One of our key functions is to coordinate youth development activities in Malawi. The National Youth Council of Malawi Act of 1996 gives us mandate to promote and coordinate youth development in the country.

Through our current three programmes; Youth Participation and Empowerment (YPE), Youth Reproductive Health (YRH), and Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (RME), the Council coordinates wide range of youth-led development programmes, and advocate for improved coordination of youth-targeted programmes implemented by the government and other stakeholders.

Our coordination mechanisms include; receiving and analysis of quarterly reports from youth organisations, routine monitoring, validation and documentation field visits, Annual General Assembly (AGA) and coordination meetings such as Symposiums and Performance Review meetings at both national and district levels.
